Visual Analytics would like to recognize and honor the contributions and accomplishments of a trusted and valued family member. In February 2007, Carl Antonelli passed away at the age of 36.
Carl was born and raised in Pennsylvania, where he graduated from Philip Barbour High School and moved on to attend West Virginia University majoring in Computer Science. Carl joined the Visual Analytics team in January 2005, quickly becoming a highly respected and appreciated member of our team and family.
Carl was a smart, dedicated, and talented individual easily earning the respect of co-workers and customers alike for his patience, knowledge, and easy-going manner.
While Carl’s work kept him out of the office most of the time, he managed to maintain close relationships with co-workers with whom he often discussed, at great length, the solutions to the world’s problems, or shared his sense of humor.
Carl’s work took him to many new places around the globe. He was enjoying his overseas adventures and was just beginning to experience a lot of what the world has to offer. We only wish he had more time.

We will always remember Carl as a true team player, close family member and upstanding individual who reflected the true element, style, and demeanor of VAI.
A TRIBUTE TO CARL
To laugh often and much
To win the respect of intelligent
People, and the affection of children,
To earn the appreciation of honest
Critics, and endure the betrayal of
False friends,
To appreciate Beauty,
To find the best in others,
To leave the earth a bit better,
Whether by a healthy child, a garden
Patch, or a redeeming social condition,
To know even one life has breathed
Easier because you have lived,
This is to have succeeded.
