The Java 2 Platform has built in accessibility support to produce applications that work with assistive technology. A component can use the Java Accessibility API extension by implementing the "Accessible" interface. This is done with the getAccessibleContext() method call, which returns an instance of AccessibleContext specific to the component and enables its accessibility.
