The Group By algorithm places data based on the objects' attribute values creating groups
of objects that identify and expose similarities. Objects with the same attribute value
are grouped together and their positions within the group are determined by secondary
attributes. The overall look of the placement is determined by the layout selected.
VisuaLinks® currently provides approximately 50 layout options for the Group By algorithm.
The Group By placements can be very effective for managing and showing large quantities of data.
This Group by example shows the same attribute selection, but with a Circle of Circles layout chosen.
The large circle represents suspect objects which are grouped together because they have no
CLASSIFICATION attribute.
This example shows a Circle layout using the CLASSIFICATION attribute to order the data.
Objects with the same value in the CLASSIFICATION attribute are grouped together and
slightly offset from the next group.
