Level Span

The Level Span algorithm places data in a hierarchical layout based on an exhaustive association search. This tool is very similar to the Level Span tool in the Data Toolbar.

When applying the Level Span placement to an already loaded Information Set, you can select the object(s) you want to use as the root. By default, the most connected object is selected for you. These objects represent the first level of the hierarchy.

When loading data into a Level Span placement, the most connected object is automatically used as the root.

This example shows a Level Span placement using the Matrix Placement and Vertical Placement settings.

This example shows a Level Span placement using the Line Placement setting. The vertical line of objects separate from the hierarchy are those objects that can not be reached from the root object.
